about

Povo in Brazil means People or the nation and in Zimbabwe (Shona) it means the common people.
This song has been inspired by the Povo of Brazil whom for the last 3 years have been very excited and welcoming Pax Nindi music in the country especially the live concerts. In Zimbabwe the Povo were the first inspirers of what became Harare Dread sound.
Pax Nindi aka Harare Dread has released over a dozen albums and claims this has been the most inspiring album he has done as it was the first ever album he has done collaborating with other artists and is worth listening to.

lyrics

Shona (Zimbabwe) and English Lyrics

Ndinofara nekuti ndiri Povo --- Im happy even though Im a Povo
Ndinofara kana ndine Povo ----- Im happy when Im with the Povo
Hapana zvinofamba pasina iyoyo Povo ----There in progress without the Povo
Inzwayi kuimba kunyatsoshaura Povo ----- Listen as we sing and shout Povo!

Look at the world, its all Povorised
As the Povo work so hard to get the world going
In the favelas in Rio, Salvador Pernambuco The shanty towns in Joburg, Harare, Lagos, Lilongwe
The neighbourhoods in the United States of America
In every city around the world there is the Povo
Trying to make ends meet while the politicians push for a vote
Finding it hard to survive while the corrupt leaders wine and dine
The real people, as common as they can be are watching
Watch your step we are the Povo
We will get you if you are bad
Bless you if you are as good
Pooooooooovo
